Be Strong
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
(Ephesians 6:10)
If you've ever noticed, most little boys like to pretend to be superheroes. Superman, Batman, Spiderman, the Hulk. These characters inspire a young boy to want to be strong and mighty. But sad to say, by the time they are teenagers, many of them lose their desire for power and strength. Strength and power are found in a man's character. When a man lives by moral principles and follows a moral compass, nothing can defeat him.
The apostle Paul wanted the church at Ephesus to remember who they were. So he told them that the last words he would leave with them were to be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Paul knew they would face a battle. But they must learn to stand strong in Christ when the battles rage. They must learn to be unmovable and unshakeable, and that would require them to build a solid relationship with and in Christ. When we study and apply God's Word to our lives, and when we live and walk in His Spirit, nothing can defeat us because we are built upon a solid ROCK - Christ Jesus.
