Do What You Said You’d Do

But what think ye? A certain man had two sons, and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work today in my vineyard.  He answered and said, I will not: but afterward he repented and went. And he came to the second, and said likewise. And he answered and said, I go, sir: and went not. Which of them twain did the will of his father? They say unto him, The first. Jesus saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you. "(Matthew 21:28-31)

Thought For Today:
According to this passage of scripture, the second son said he was going to work, but he lied; he never showed up. When a man says that he wants to do something, but he doesn't put forth any effort, he lives in a state of confusion.  I believe that every man should have the intestinal fortitude to do what he says he is going to do. And if not, be willing to say why he can't.  As Christians, we need to realize that if we tell our Heavenly Father, or anyone else, that we are going to do something and don't, God is not well pleased.   Always remember, your salvation didn't come with lies; it came with truth.  And the truth will always make us free from ourselves.  Therefore, if we say that we are His, then we must do what He asks us to do.
