Don’t Get Direction From Your Heart

He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool: but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered. (Proverbs 28:26)

 Thought For Today:

I was listening as a woman advised another woman to trust her heart regarding a difficult situation. Maybe you've heard that advice before. Solomon disagreed, saying that trusting your own heart is foolish because, as Jeremiah pointed out, "the heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?" (Jeremiah 17:9).

When you're emotional, you can't truly predict your actions. Solomon encourages us to trust in the LORD with all our heart and not rely on our own understanding. Acknowledge Him in everything, and He will guide your steps. Don't rely on your own wisdom; fear the LORD and avoid evil. This will bring you health and strength. (Proverbs 3:5-8). Always remember, "There are many devices in a man's heart; nevertheless the counsel of the LORD, that shall stand" (Proverbs 19:21). For a sure and lasting trust, rely on the Lord.
