Everyone needs a looking glass

Hast thou with him spread out the sky, which is strong, and as a molten looking glass? (Job 37:18)

Thought For Today:

Every so often I notice young peoples'  faces when someone quotes an old expression that they have never heard before.  For example, when I was growing up, they would say when a boy and girl went out together they were courting.  But today they say they are dating.  I noticed someone say to a young girl, “Here’s Johnny.” But she didn’t get it because she never saw the Johnny Carson Show. They don’t know what a rotary phone is. They don’t know what a cassette tape is either. The mirror used to be called a looking glass.

James tells us, "But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was"(James 1:22-24).  You see the looking glass was for you to see yourself and how you looked.  Another major purpose is to let you know that you are the only one that can fix your own problem.  You can pay a counselor thousands of dollars and think that they are helping you fix your problem. Or you can just look into the Word of God obey it and fix your own problem.
