False God Alert

And God spake all these words, saying, I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. Thou shalt have no other gods before me. (Exodus 20:1-3)

Thought For Today: 
Certain places in Asia, have a god for everything.  Dragon boat races are used to recognize the god of the sea. They have painted finger nail dances to the gods. They have a celebration day for the month you were born gods.  They recognize a god of the harvest.  You name it, they have a god for it. 

When God gave Moses the law, He told him, "Thou shalt have no other gods before me."  Israel was not to allow anything to come between them and Jehovah.  They were not to worship any other gods.  Because the land God was taking them to was infested with so many gods, God knew that it would be easy for them to be led astray and follow them to their destruction if they were not forewarned.  We see that King Solomon, the wisest man, who allowed the wives he to  worship their false gods and this angered God, and it led Solomon astray.  Even today, we see many people worshiping and  following false gods and the gods of the lands.  If we will start our day with prayer and reading the word of God, we can identify false gods and stay away from them.
