Get Excited and Tell Everybody
And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. (Luke 2:8-14)
Thought For Today:
What would you do if you looked up in to the sky and saw a host of angels praising God and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men? Well this is what happened in Bethlehem over 2000 years ago at the birth of Jesus. The heavenly host announced His arrival just as scripture said that they would. This announcement by the angels, that a Savior had been born, even today, should cause us to be excited and ready to worship Him. Many in Jesus' time were looking for Him to come, but others were not. Some, like today, had no idea what it was all about. Many people wondered what the conversation between the shepherds and Mary was like, I belive the shepherds simply delivered the message that God told them to give to Mary. Scripture says that she kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. And even the shepherds, when they saw for themselves that Jesus was actually present with them, they glorified and praised God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them. What is your response when you hear the gospel? Do you get excited about the good news about of Jesus Christ? Do you go tell others, while you are glorifying and praising God?
