Go Forward
And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever. The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace. And the LORD said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward: (Exodus 14:13-15)
Thought For Today:
Discouragement has a purpose, and its purpose is to cause you to quit. When the children of Israel, who had been in captivity for over 400 years, saw Pharaoh's army coming towards them, they feared. They feared that this army was going to kill them or put them back into slavery. They had so soon forgotten what God had already done for them. You see, discouragement makes you forget what God has done for you. God has promised never to change. Even if you walk away and stop serving Him, the promises didn't change; you did. God told them that He would deliver them, but apparently, discouragement can lead to doubting everything. It didn't change what God said He would do; Israel changed their ability to believe what He said. And so when Moses cried to the Lord, God reissued His promise by saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward. In other words, stop looking behind you and go toward the place I told you to go. I know you see the sea before you and the army behind you, but I go before you to make the way straight. So let me encourage you today, go forward. Don't look back. No matter the problems you may be facing, go forward because your promise is on the other side of the obstacle.
