God’s Healing Power

But so much the more went there a fame abroad of him: and great multitudes came together to hear, and to be healed by him of their infirmities. And he withdrew himself into the wilderness, and prayed. And it came to pass on a certain day, as he was teaching, that there were Pharisees and doctors of the law sitting by, which were come out of every town of Galilee, and Judaea, and Jerusalem: and the power of the Lord was present to heal them. (Luke 5:15-17)

Thought For Today:
One of the things about Jesus' ministry, was that it had a way of silencing the false teachers in His day.  They were not able to do the things that He could do. One approach Jesus utilized to demonstrate his identity was through the act of healing individuals. Whether it was physically, mentally, or spiritually, the Bible said that He healed them. "And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people. And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatick, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them" (Matthew 4:23-24).  The Pharisees believed in angels and in the resurrection, that's why they were 'fair-u-see', and the Sadducees did not believe in either, that's why they were 'sad-u-see' (my Humor). According to the Bible, after several days had passed, Jesus was teaching and the power of the Lord was present to heal those gathered. As stated in Matthew 28:18, all authority in heaven and on earth belongs to Him, and with the healer present, any individual in need of healing could receive it. My friend, God's power to heal remains undiminished. I hope we have not lost our ability to trust that He still can. As it is written in Mark 9:23, "If you can believe, all things are possible to those who believe."
