Prayer

Matt 6:7 And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words.

8 “Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him. 9 In this manner, therefore, pray:

Our Father in heaven,

Hallowed be Your name.

10 Your kingdom come.

Your will be done

On earth as it is in heaven.

11 Give us this day our daily bread.

12 And forgive us our debts,

As we forgive our debtors.

13 And do not lead us into temptation,

But deliver us from the evil one.

For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

14 “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

I believe that a Christian ought to have certain habits in their life. And one of those is that of prayer.

Prayer isn’t about how loud you can shout or making a spectacle of yourself.

Prayer is a relationship between you and God. It’s about connecting with God and making your petitions known, it’s also about interceding for others.

David seems not only to be a great warrior, but also a great leader of soldiers and a great witness for the nation of Israel and others.

David was a man of prayer. Maybe Daniel understood through David’s example of prayer that God grants great victories.

Maybe Jesus’ example of how to pray in teaching His disciples, was a pattern taken from David’s prayers, since David often spoken much of praise, adoration, worship, and intercession to God in his psalms.

Prayer ought to be those deep moments where you can hear that still small voice speaking to you. It should be a time of true love and respect for the One who you love and appreciate. God has been so good to us.

Jesus said that when you pray do not to use vain repetition. Vain repetition refers to useless, empty phrases without sincerity or any heart in it.

This verse does not forbid repeating the same request in prayer but rather prohibits treating prayer like a magical formula to chant for things to happen.

Jesus states in verse 8, that God already knows what people need before they ask, making excessive pleading unnecessary.

That is why I believe it’s key that we sit down and talk with God in more of a relational setting, than babbling words of no effect. As James says, the effectual fervent prayer of the righteous man availeth much.

Prayer supports mental health by calming the nervous system, reducing stress, and fostering emotional resilience. It offers physiological, cognitive, and psychological benefits similar to meditation

Regular prayer benefits your physical health primarily by calming the nervous system. By lowering stress hormone levels and heart rate, it helps reduce chronic inflammation, boosts immune function, and protects against stress-related conditions like hypertension

Prayer helps Align Your Values:

It positions you to "see life through a heavenly lens," helping you stay grounded, maintain a clear perspective, and act with greater empathy.

It’s like getting into a heavenly watch tower and see things the way that God sees things. It is where you can hear God give you answers you’ve been needing.

Prayer provides protection

We have protective phone cases

We have insurance coverage over our material treasures

We have insurance coverage protecting our bank accounts.

What about protecting our soul.

Prayer does that.
