Recieve The Word

And a certain Jew named Apollos, born at Alexandria, an eloquent man, and mighty in the scriptures, came to Ephesus. This man was instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in the spirit, he spake and taught diligently the things of the Lord, knowing only the baptism of John. And he began to speak boldly in the synagogue: whom when Aquila and Priscilla had heard, they took him unto them, and expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly. And when he was disposed to pass into Achaia, the brethren wrote, exhorting the disciples to receive him: who, when he was come, helped them much which had believed through grace: For he mightily convinced the Jews, and that publickly, shewing by the scriptures that Jesus was Christ.

Thought For Today:
Let’s be open and friendly, just like Apollos! Whenever someone shares something new or different, let’s listen with a warm heart and see what we can learn together. You never know when you might find that missing piece to your puzzle or receive a little spark of inspiration. Stay curious, keep exploring, and encourage each other along the way!
We need to understand as Isaiah said, "For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little" (Isaiah 28:10).  We never know who God will use and who He will send to give us more wisdom and understanding to His Word. I sure don't understand it all, and no matter what church function I attend, I always come away with a little bit more knowledge then when I went in.  And not only that, but I’ve also gleaned insight for future messages, and even words of encouragement to share with others.  So don't be too quick to reject what others are telling you as long as it lines up with the Bible. 
When Aquila and Priscilla heard Apollos preaching and teaching diligently the things of the Lord knowing only the baptism of John the Baptist, they took him unto them and expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly. Apparently, Apollos didn't know that they were to baptize in the name of Jesus, since the scripture says that he only knew about the baptism of John.  And he apparently didn't know that Jesus was the Lord, since scripture says that he was only instructed in the ways of the Lord. Apollos didn't reject what they told him, but after they spoke to him, he mightily convinced the Jews, and that publicly, showing by the scriptures that Jesus was Christ.  Are you missing a piece of the puzzle to your ministry or life.  Don't reject what someone tells you, Acts 17:11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.
