Relentless

"Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 8:35-39).

Thought For Today:
How would you rate your persistence? Would you say that you give up and give in easily when things do not look favorable?  Or do you keep pursuing what you want? I find that David, Gideon, Jesus, and the Apostle Paul were all men of persistence. They each had a determination that nothing would stop them. David pursued his enemy to get back his family (1 Samuel 30).  Gideon chased his enemy even though he and his men were faint and tired (Judges 8).  Jesus was willing to go to the cross that we might have salvation (Matthew 26:36-46). And Paul was unwilling to let anything stop him from preaching the gospel (Acts 20:24). These stories are written for our learning and encouragement.  The only way we can make heaven and gain eternal life is to be persistent in our walk and relationship with God.  Paul was also so persistent that he said nothing could separate him from God's love.  What about you?  Are you willing to keep pressing toward the mark of the prize?
