The Knowledge Of The Cross
For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. (1 Corinthians 1:18)
Thought For Today:
Just because you wear a cross necklace around your neck doesn’t make you a Christian. I think many of us have noticed people wearing cross necklaces, cross tattoos, and cross T-shirts, while at the same time they might be drunk, stoned, or using rough language, and it seems like the cross didn’t really possess any power. The cross has to be more than a symbol. The power of God is revealed through the role the cross plays in an individual's testimony. Paul said, "For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God" (1 Corinthians 1:18). Jesus is no longer on the cross. He was buried, and He rose again on the third day. It's not only about the image one displays on the cross, but it’s also about the knowledge of the cross through which we receive power.
