True Intersession

Exodus 33:12-15
And Moses said unto the LORD, See, thou sayest unto me, Bring up this people: and thou hast not let me know whom thou wilt send with me. Yet thou hast said, I know thee by name, and thou hast also found grace in my sight. Now therefore, I pray thee, if I have found grace in thy sight, shew me now thy way, that I may know thee, that I may find grace in thy sight: and consider that this nation is thy people. And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest. And he said unto him, If thy presence go not with me, carry us not up hence.

Thought For Today:
It appears that Moses has a strong relationship with God. He is able to communicate with God directly and present his arguments to Him. Moses has the ability to ask God to reconsider His decisions regarding the children of Israel. Despite the people's stubbornness, Moses knows that God cares for them deeply. As a result, he frequently intercedes on their behalf, pleading with God to show mercy. God appears to be so fed up with the people, that He tells Moses, "I'll send an angel before you, Unto a land flowing with milk and honey: for I will not go up in the midst of thee; for thou art a stiffnecked people: lest I consume thee in the way" (Exodus 33:3-4).  To have angered God to this extent, the people must have committed a grave mistake. However, due to Moses' close relationship with God and his humble nature, he was able to appeal to God once again. Moses reminded God of the promise He had made to him. He said, "Yet thou hast said, I know thee by name, and thou hast also found grace in my sight. Now therefore, I pray thee, if I have found grace in thy sight, shew me now thy way, that I may know thee, that I may find grace in thy sight: and consider that this nation is thy people. And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest. And he said unto him, If thy presence go not with me, carry us not up hence."   Moses once said to God, "If You won't go with us, then don't take us either." This was a wonderful example of love for God and His people. Moses was a true intercessor, willing to pray on behalf of others. He understood the importance of God's presence during their journey and knew that it was essential for God to lead and guide them. Moses was a man who held God to His promise and was not afraid to remind Him of it. What about you?  Are you willing to live a life that allows you to have an open and honest conversation with God? When we pray, we should not simply repeat the same words or phrases, but rather approach God with transparency and authenticity. As David expressed in the Bible, "May the Lord grant all your requests." It is important to remember that God knows what He has promised us, and it is up to us to hold Him to His word. However, we must also be obedient to His commands and not act in rebellion.
