Just Turn Your Back On Satan

Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

(James 4:7)

Thought For Today:
Did you know that if you are facing the devil, then your back is turned toward Jesus?   So let me encourage you to turn around.  James says, If you resist the devil, he will flee from you.  So keep your face toward Jesus, and you can resist the devil.  You see, Satan wants you to stay focused on him, as we read in the scriptures, on his attempt on Jesus.  Paul tells us, “There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it”(1 Corinthians 10:13).  Satan isn’t called the tempter and accuser of the brethren for nothing.  The only way you can be tempted by something is if it is put in front of you. That’s why when you are driving down the road, all you see is billboards with pictures that tempt you and appease your flesh.  Think about how far you can see the Golden Arches when you are traveling.  It is to tempt your flesh.  The next time you are tempted and you don't want to give in, look at the beauty of God's creation.  That will keep your face towards Jesus and your back on Satan.  Remember, Jesus never prayed for your flesh; He prayed for your faith. For it is impossible to please God without faith. For he that cometh to God, must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him (Hebrews 11:6).
