We Still Need Virtuous Women

This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. (2 Timothy 3:1-7)

As a father and pastor, I have become deeply concerned for our women and young ladies today. I don't understand why some feel they must seek equality by acting like men, looking like men, or presenting themselves in a risqué way to rise in status. Paul said that in the last days, men would creep into houses and lead captive silly women laden with sins, who would be led away with divers lusts.

But Solomon's mother told him of a virtuous woman, "strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come. She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness. She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness. Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her... Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised" (Proverbs 31:25-28;30).

My prayer is that our Christian women will hold fast to the teachings of the Word and not be led astray by the lusts this world presents to them. That they will not be silly women laden with sin, but rather like the virtuous women Solomon's mother spoke of; women whose price is far above rubies.
