Why Are We Attacked After A Victory

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel, For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak. (Ephesians 6:10-20)

Thought For Today:

The Nature of Counter Attacks

A counterattack occurs when your enemy returns unexpectedly, aiming to catch you unprepared and vulnerable. If they succeed, they can defeat you by exploiting your lack of readiness. Recognizing this danger, we must consistently take measures to ensure we are not surprised.

Preparation Strategies

To guard against counter attacks, we must establish surrounding security parameters to watch for any signs of the enemy's return. Additionally, we must make sure our weapons and armor are in proper working order. This can only happen when a Christian is filled with God’s Spirit and walking in faith according to Ephesians 6:15. Paul wrote to the church at Corinth, "Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices" (2 Corinthians 2:11). Are you aware of Satan’s tactics? They are rarely obvious; instead, they come through deception and surprise, possibly using others to achieve his intent. Satan often returns right after you experience a significant spiritual victory or a moment of praise. Just when you think you’ve achieved victory, he strikes with a counterattack, targeting you when you are least prepared.

Staying Ready and Overcoming

To withstand these attacks, you must continually put on the whole armor of God, testing each piece daily to ensure you are ready and able to stand firm when you face opposition. Remember, we overcome him by the word of our testimony and the blood of the Lamb.
