A Place Of Rest
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
(Matthew 11:28-30)
Thought For Today:
Over the last several years, my wife and I have explored numerous National and State Parks stretching from California to Virginia and from Montana down to Arizona. We've had the privilege of experiencing breathtaking scenery that rivals anywhere else on earth. What stands out about these destinations is their shared atmosphere of tranquility and rejuvenation. Even though these parks have plenty to offer, you really need to visit them yourself to fully appreciate their appeal. Their beauty can't be grasped without a direct experience—a concept that holds true in Gods kingdom.
If rest is not attained and the opportunity to seek it has been extended yet declined, the responsibility for its absence does not lie with our God. You can travel to these parks and get rest, but it will only be temporary. Yet you can go to Jesus and have continual rest. It's our choice.
"And he said unto them, Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while: for there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat. And they departed into a desert place by ship privately"(Mark 6:31-32). Why not come apart a while with Jesus, so that you do not fall apart.
