A Time Of Reflection

Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates? But I trust that ye shall know that we are not reprobates. (2 Corinthians 13:5-6).

Thought For Today:
How often do you reflect on your identity in Christ? Do you question whether you are aligning with God's word? Have you ever asked God how you are measuring up and if He is pleased with you? I've realized that we need to confront difficult questions. I see this in King David, who asked himself, "Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God" (Psalms 42:11). The most honest evaluator is the person in the mirror. Paul reminds us, "Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall' (1 Corinthians 10:12). If we are willing to ask ourselves honest questions now and adjust our lives according to the Spirit’s guidance, we won't need to worry when we face Him on that day.
