Don’t Even Think About Quiting
For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled"(2 Corinthians 10:3-6)
Thought For Today:
Quitting always begins with that very thought. People get divorced because they think it would be better to do so. People quit their jobs because they think they don't like working there anymore. People drop out of school because they consider quitting. You see, everything that we do starts with a thought. It's no different when it comes to attending church. If we think about how great church is and how we can make a difference there, we'll attend. If we think about sacrificial giving, we will give sacrificially. Everything that we do starts in our mind.
Solomon tells us to keep our hearts with all diligence, for out of it are the issues of life. And Paul tells us, "Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you" (Philippians 4:8-9). If we do not bring every thought into the obedience of Christ, we will listen to our flesh and quit before we ever reach our goals.
