God Can Tell Time

Then the LORD said unto Moses, Go in unto Pharaoh, and tell him, Thus saith the LORD God of the Hebrews, Let my people go, that they may serve me. For if thou refuse to let them go, and wilt hold them still, Behold, the hand of the LORD is upon thy cattle which is in the field, upon the horses, upon the asses, upon the camels, upon the oxen, and upon the sheep: there shall be a very grievous murrain. And the LORD shall sever between the cattle of Israel and the cattle of Egypt: and there shall nothing die of all that is the children's of Israel. And the LORD appointed a set time, saying, To morrow the LORD shall do this thing in the land. (Exodus 9:1-5)

Thought For Today:

Everyone seems to be in a hurry these days. We speed because we’re not satisfied with the posted speed limit signs. We complain if our food takes too long to arrive. We just seem to want everything on our time schedule. But what about God's time? What if those posted speed limit signs were God's way of telling us to slow down and enjoy life? What if our meal delays were God's way of saying, learn to enjoy one another in good fellowship when you are out. Why are there so many scriptures that tell us to wait upon the Lord? His ways are not our ways, and His thoughts are not our thoughts.  Scripture says that when God was dealing with Pharaoh, "And the LORD appointed a set time, saying, tomorrow the LORD shall do this thing in the land." Solomon tells us to everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven (Eccl 3:1).  Because God sets the time that He will do things, we must learn to wait and trust Him and not to take matters into our own hands.
