Look To The Light
"Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path" (Psalms 119:105)
First of all, think about the guidance of God's Word
Have you ever tried to walk through a completely dark room or navigate a rocky path at night? Without light, fear sets in, and every step can be dangerous.
God's Word provides direction and clarity for our lives.
Just as a lamp illuminates a path,
Just like a lighthouse keeps ships safe at sea
Just like a security light keeps criminal activities at bay
Much like how light dispels darkness.
Scripture guides us through uncertainty and helps us make choices that honor God.
The light from God's Word dispels confusion and darkness, revealing the way we should walk.
If you are grateful for good headlights on your vehicle
If you are thankful for the lighting in your home,
You should appreciate the word of God that delivers us from evil.
I promise you one thing: you can not go wrong by trusting in God's Word to guide you safely through this life.
What's the difference between walking in Spiritual Light versus Spiritual Darkness
Walking in Spiritual Light means living in alignment with God’s truth, righteousness, and love, resulting in clarity, fellowship, and purity.
Walking in Spiritual Darkness represents a life of sin, ignorance, and separation from God, characterized by fear, deception, and moral confusion.
· Light brings spiritual insight, while darkness represents being in the dark regarding truth and purpose.
· Walking in light brings fellowship with God, while darkness separates from Him.
· Light reflects the fruit of the Spirit, whereas darkness is associated with selfish actions.
Isa 9:2 The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined.
John 8:12 12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
Many people claim to be Christians and followers of Christ, yet some still choose to walk in darkness. This is not simply a matter of personal opinion; Scripture makes it clear that those who are truly born again must walk in the light.
There is no middle ground in the kingdom of God. We are either walking in the light of the Lord, or we are stumbling in the darkness of this world
When Jesus said, "I am the light of the world," He wasn’t just talking about a vague sense of goodness. He was talking about His active presence, the fiery guidance of the Holy Spirit, and the truth of His Word illuminating our paths.
Darkness is not just the absence of light; it is the presence of sin, deception, and the influence of the enemy. It is a spirit of the world that hides truths and loves evil deeds.
Walking in darkness doesn't always mean living in open rebellion. It often means hiding. It is pretending, putting on a religious mask, and refusing to let the Holy Spirit shine into our private lives.
The result of this darkness is that we cannot see where we are going. We stumble over temptations, fall into anger, and walk into traps (sin, apathy, fear) because we refuse to surrender our hidden areas to the Light.
We cannot experience the true fire of the Holy Spirit while clinging to the secret darkness of the old man.
I CHOOSE TO WALK IN THE LIGHT
"God is light, and in him is no darkness at all" (1 John 1:5). Walking in light means living in a way that matches His holy nature.
Walking in the light does not mean you are perfect. It means you are honest. It means walking in transparency, allowing the blood of Jesus to continuously cleanse us from sin.
Walking in light produces fruit: goodness, righteousness, and truth (Ephesians 5:9)
The Holy Spirit gives us the power not only to know the right path but also to walk it, breaking the bondage of habits that keep us in darkness.
Walking in the light creates true, sacrificial fellowship with other believers. Walking in darkness leads to isolation, suspicion, and division.
Those in darkness hate the light because they do not want their evil deeds exposed (John 3:20).
Those in the light crave the Word and the Spirit's conviction to make them more like Jesus.Light asks, "What can I surrender to God?" Darkness asks, "What can I get away with?"
· Imagine a dark cave filled with dangers. A tiny candle brings enough light to see the path, but the darkness remains. But the sun? When the sun rises, the darkness must flee entirely.
Jesus is not a candle; He is the Sun of Righteousness.
· Do not be content with a half-lit life. If you have been hiding, playing games, or struggling with hidden sin, bring it to the light today.
Our Identity
1 Peter 2:9 9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light:
As believers, we are described as a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, and a peculiar people.
According to this scripture, our purpose is to proclaim the praises of God, who has brought us out of darkness into His wonderful light. This calling is not just a privilege; it is a responsibility to reflect God's light to others.
The world defines a "loser" by bank status and material gain. It tells us that if you are struggling, hurting, or failing, you are already defeated, so just quit now.
Remember that Satan is the accuser (Revelation 12:10). He wants to whisper in your ear: "You’ve failed too many times," "You’ll never change," or "You are a loser."
We are not defined by our circumstances, but by our Covenant.
Through Jesus, our status is not "survivor," it is "overcomer".
We don't fight for victory; we fight from victory. Jesus already conquered sin, sickness, and death at the Cross and the Resurrection.
The only way to truly lose is to stop trusting in Jesus and quit the fight.
Falling doesn't make you a loser; staying down does. When you fall, the Holy Spirit gives you the power to get back up, repent, and press on.
