The Cleansing Word Of God

Then Job answered and said, I know it is so of a truth: but how should man be just with God? (Job 9:1-2)

Thought For Today:
Have you ever wondered how to truly connect with God? I've heard it said, "I'm trying, believe me, I'm trying, but as soon as someone says something I dislike, something inside me flares up." Hmm! I would respond, "So there's something inside you—what is it?" They might say, "I don't know." Do you ever feel like that? There's something within us, but we're not always sure what it is.
James asks, "Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom. But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth. This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish" (James 3:13-15). Have you opened yourself up again to negative spirits influencing you? That’s why we're encouraged to come out of the world after being born again of the water and Spirit. Solomon reminds us that a good man is satisfied with himself (Proverbs 14:14). Bildad, the Shuhite, after speaking with Job, said, "Behold, God will not cast away a perfect man, neither will he help the evil doers" (Job 8:20). Job responded, "I know it is so, but how can a man be justified with God?" So, how do we get our lives aligned with God's ways? Solomon advises, "Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word" (Psalms 119:9). Jesus adds, "Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you" (John 15:3). To be right with God, we need to obey His Word and align our lives with His. We must strive to be Holy just as He is Holy. Let’s allow the mind of Christ to dwell in us. If you notice something inside you that always rises up when someone speaks against you, or if your temper begins to flare, it’s a sign you need more of God's Word. You'll never truly be right with God until you are first right with yourself. John reminds us, "Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose, the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother" (1 John 3:7-10).
