Hard Bible Questions
And when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon concerning the name of the LORD, she came to prove him with hard questions. (1 Kings 10:1)
Thought For Today:
Has anyone ever asked you a question and your reply was, "I don't know, that's a hard question?" Some people try to answer people with their intellect, and so it makes the question seem complicated.
The other day, while at a Mexican restaurant, I asked the waiter what cream salad was. He said, “I haven't heard of it before, since I haven't been working here very long and am not familiar with it.”. Then he added, “I think it’s like…”. When he walked away, I questioned my wife about why he said 'I don’t know' and then attempted to invent an explanation. Just say I don’t know.
The queen of Sheba heard of Solomon's wisdom, and so she came to put him to the test, with hard questions. I wonder what she asked him? Scripture says that he answered every one of her questions. Questions aren't hard if we listen to what the person is saying and give them an answer based on the word of God. You shouldn't waste your time with foolish questions, though. Remember, if we try to answer questions based on our refusal to admit we don’t know, then some of them will be answered foolishly. You can always say that you don’t know, but let’s search the scriptures and find the answer.
