Truth Is Jesus
Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. (Colossians 2:8-9)
Thought For Today:
If someone were to ask you, "Is Jesus in the Godhead or is the Godhead in Jesus?" what would your reply be? When we refer to the "Godhead," we are referring to the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Jesus asked His disciples, "Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?" Then He went on and asked them, "But who do you say that I am?"
Many questions surround people's thoughts as to who Jesus really was. Even when He was on the earth, many were confounded by the things they saw Him do and say. Nicodemus, a religious leader, was so concerned that he went to Him to ask Him questions. They even tried to catch Him in trickery with scripture. But each time, they were confounded by His reply and understanding of the scriptures. When we become truly born-again believers, dominations are set aside for truth and the desire for even more truth. The enemy of your soul isn't too concerned about defeating you if you don't know the truth. But he becomes very concerned when you know the truth, and you keep striving and seeking more truth. He knows that the truth makes men free. Everything in a born-again believer's life flows from their true understanding of who Jesus Christ truly was and is. If you never gain or obtain the knowledge and understanding as to who Jesus was and is, you will be lacking. You can attend church all you want, be the best person that you could ever be, give all your goods and possessions to feed the poor, dress the best that you have ever dressed, sing the best you could ever sing, but until you have the knowledge of truth, you still will not be free from yourself and the enemy will defeat you before you cross the finish line. "And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory"(1 Timothy 3:16).
